Flow of Madness |
I write about pop culture and life in a philosophical way. Main topics include Skins, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, The Big Bang Theory, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Ed Sheeran. I will also include anything else that tickles me. Feel free to say hi. Always glad to hear from all of you. Thank you for existing. |
I was inspired to write about this based on again everything-skins being asked a question about the tattoo.
Now Awkward Alex Arnold (by the way AAA is the new XXX) was asked on twitter about whether or not his tattoo in Series 6 was real or not. He replied that it was for the character and that he asked for it. This made my heart happy, because it makes me feel like Alex has the same understanding as me when it comes to Rich.
The tattoo that Rich has is one that has a special meaning and is famous in the metal community especially if you are a Led Zeppelin fan.
The Tattoo:
This tattoo is one of the four Led Zeppelin symbols that each member of the band used to represent them on their fourth album. The one that Rich has belongs to the bassist John Paul Jones. The symbol represents confidence and competence. Nothing more metal than that.
Now personally I find this awesome and it might just be they found this tattoo and thought “well this is metal related so we will use it.” However I tend to think that there was more thought to it.
First of all Rich is a bassist and the symbol he chose was the bassist of Led Zeppelin. It’s a small connection yet it is interesting to me.
Secondly and lastly the symbolism is competence and confidence which are two things that I believe Rich strives to be and what I think he is becoming. He is logical. He is smart. He is passionate. He knows who he is. He is a problem solver. He is stable. He is dependable. To me it is the best tattoo Skins could have picked for our snarky metal man.
Love it.
