I write about pop culture and life in a philosophical way. Main topics include Skins, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, The Big Bang Theory, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Ed Sheeran. I will also include anything else that tickles me. Feel free to say hi. Always glad to hear from all of you. Thank you for existing. |
unicornsdragonsandelvesohmy asked: Just suddenly wanted to ask you this :D, even though it's a sad topic... How would you compare Jal's grief to Rich's (even though we only saw one episode of Jal after Chris died)?
I love your sudden feelings. Follow them often!
I think that Jal and Rich handled their grief in similar ways. I would say the only difference lies in the circumstances surrounding the two deaths.
Chris’s death was of natural causes and she was not separated from Chris for quite a long time before he died. Whereas Grace was killed by a tragic accident and Rich was kept away from her for months before she died. That took a toll on him. This is why Rich had his visions and his conversations with Grace that felt so real to him. He was coping with not only the death of Grace but the force separation. Also the inability to say goodbye or be there for her. So it made Rich’s grief a bit more twisted in many ways.
However both Jal and Rich are strong reality based people. Who are made of tough stuff. Both of them made plans for themselves for the future and both of them honored their love ones by not allowing the tragedy of losing them compromise what they represent. Chris said yes to everything and lived every day. Grace found beauty in everything and loved every day. Jal started to take chances with Chris. Rich started to open himself to the world with Grace.
Both Rich and Jal were always strong and intelligent even before love. However both of them were made stronger by their relationship with Chris and Grace. So they were able to get through it. For their loves.
Great question. I may explore this more in a little bit!
