Flow of Madness

This is my overall character analysis that looks Liv’s personality, motives, and over all character. 

Liv is a character that does not get enough appreciation from fans to friends. This is my overall tribute to this wonderful character. 

The best way I can explain my interpretation of Liv is to bring up the picture of a lioness. She is free and wild in the jungle with a watchful eye. If someone messes with her prides (Lion family) she is ready to attack with a viciousness that is meant to cut you to the core. She will do anything for those she has taken in as family and will stop at nothing to make things right. Even if she gets frustrated or she may make a mistake or few. She is always there to watch, protect, and love. 

You can see this time and time again. She is protective of Mini even during fights telling Nick that it is fucked up that Mini is still dating him and pretending that nothing happened. Or going to the hospital to sit beside Mini after her pregnancy scare. She loves deeply and it is a love that cannot be turned off completely no matter how much she may try to stop it. 

Another thing about this lioness is that she has claws that comes in the form of blunt honesty especially when she feels cornered, hurt, or desperate. You can see this with Franky when Liv feels threatened and hurt by the unbreakable bond that formed between Franky and Mini in Series 6. You can see it when she snapped at Rich. You can see it when she talked with her sister for the second time when she is prison. She knows how to verbally slash people down when she needs to point out something about someone or when she feels hurt. 

Despite this tough and protective side to this lioness the Queen of the jungle. She is also a tender sensitive creature who secretly desires to be loved as fiercely as she loves others. Most of Series 5 and Series 6 Liv is searching for love and craves to be desired in the purest of ways. The worst thing in the world for Liv is if her prides (lion family) abandon her to wander the jungle alone. This is something that Liv cannot take no matter how strong she is. The only thing Liv desires the most is a place to call home and a group of people that make her feel loved. 

People do not get to see this side of Liv. They look at her and see this tough girl who loves to do what she wants and has this appearance that she does not give a fuck. She dances a little wilder than the rest. She talks a bit louder. Her words are a bit fiercer. She drinks a bit heavier. She  lives a bit harder. She is proud and she is loud. She is fucking Liv Malone. Can drink you under the table, bitch slap you over the table, and having you laughing across the table. This acts as a mask to hide this tender side to her that only a select few gets to see. It is what makes Liv so Liv. 

Her family life does not offer her the stability she needs. Though she will fight to the death and take care of her little sister Maude who is the only person in her family that does not complicate her life, but in fact makes it better. This lack of family support and the evidence of both physical and emotional abandonment is a huge contextual reason for why Liv is the way she is. Her friends are important to her, because her family is simply a broken part of her life. She needs Mini who has been a sister to her for most of her life. She needs Grace to make her smile and love her no matter what she does. She needs a dependable Rich to give her advice and stay the Rich she knows. She needs her friend, because even though lionesses are in the cat family. They are the most social of the feline family. Liv is that social lioness and she needs her heart of gold to be loved, because her heart of gold loves with a fierceness that cannot compare. 

That is what Liv Malone is. She is that friend in your life that never goes away no matter what happens. Who will be there when you need her. Who will take you out and get you drunk to forget a bad day. Who will dance with you to make you laugh. She literally is the shit that is stuck on your stilettos. She is simply…the queen.
