Ryder is the classic annoying jock who speaks without thinking and thinks he is far more cooler than he actually is. Yet underneath the horrible jokes and lack of real vocabulary lies a sensitive guy. He honestly wants to be friends with the gang especially Nick and Alo. I also think he cares quite a bit about what people think of him and this is what makes him behave the way he does. 

In Series 6 the gang essentially uses Ryder for a place to stay in Morocco. Ryder wanted to hang out with them so badly that he exaggerated the form and function of the villa that belongs to his family. He just wants to be loved I feel like in a strange way and he tries to reach this love in the worse ways possible. By acting like a giant douche bag. 

One of the main characteristics of Ryder is that he uses the term “homosexual” like he breathes. He often calls many people this sentiment and also likes to bring up gay sex into many conversations. This is a really good indicator that Ryder has a bit of a secret inner life. The excess of talking about homosexuality and his over zealous rhetoric about heterosexual sex with women creates a textbook definition of a closeted homosexual. Someone who is hiding and fighting the true feelings he has inside. The first time Ryder opened his mouth I immediately thought this to be true. 

He also designs his own t-shirts that have the worst words on them. Along with a flashy car. He is trying to be the alpha male too hard to be taken seriously. We later learn via Whore Wars that Ryder sleeps with Alex. Confirming what we all suspected about Ryder that. He does in fact have gay tendencies if not completely gay. 

Ryder was an awesome minor character for Generation 3. He was a fun guy to hate and laugh at.
