Rich has never been subtle in his communication with other people. He tends to say what he thinks without refining it to save people’s feelings and diplomacy is out of the question for him. The only one he ever makes an attempt to be subtle with is Grace. He also tries in Series 6 to be a bit more patient with his words especially with Alo. However his true nature is to get straight to the point and say it as he thinks it. Raw honesty. It’s honestly one of the things I like most about Rich. You know where you stand with him and he’s not going to pretend to make you feel better.
