I write about pop culture and life in a philosophical way. Main topics include Skins, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, The Big Bang Theory, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Ed Sheeran. I will also include anything else that tickles me. Feel free to say hi. Always glad to hear from all of you. Thank you for existing. |
You know if the title of the episode is “Effy” it will be a really trippy episode. Which this episode definitely is. Even with the fact that this episode is trippy…important things happen in this episode and I have two scenes in particular that I absolutely adore. And both scenes have to do with the friendship of Tony and Sid.
First scene: The bitch slapping fight between Sid and Tony in the parking garage.

This is the climax of Tony losing it all. The episode began with the entire gang avoiding everything to do with Tony. Sid isn’t talking to him either. Tony is reaping the consequences of what he did to Josh through the means of his sister Effy. He is literally losing everything. Finally, he gets Sid to come out with him to look for Effy. Then the confrontation begins between these two characters. Which involves a bitch slap which is funny, but mostly it is a lot of really deep stuff. Sid trying to tell Tony how messed up he is and Tony just being nasty. It is a really good scene, because it is literally the breaking point for Tony.
“And now I can think of nothing worse than being you! You’re always been selfish, I always understood that. You did things because you wanted something—fine. Makes sense. But now, now you do things because you can! You fuck with people…and I don’t get why. You’ve got no friends, no girlfriend, only your parents left. Not even Effy is answering your calls. You’re right, she is clever.” - Sid
Second scene, would be the conversation between Tony and Sid after Effy is brought to hospital.

This is where Tony admits that he messed up and that he even has a distorted view of himself, because of his behavior. It is where Tony is honest about his dependence on Sid. It is a cute little scene that involves Lionel Richie and curry.
“All I know is when I was scared tonight…and I was a bit…a lot. I wanted you there. Effy’s different I sort of own her cause she’s my sister, but with you…I just really wanted you there. And then you were there in the car.” – Tony
