Flow of Madness |
I write about pop culture and life in a philosophical way. Main topics include Skins, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, The Big Bang Theory, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Ed Sheeran. I will also include anything else that tickles me. Feel free to say hi. Always glad to hear from all of you. Thank you for existing. |
I have two scenes from this episode that I wish to talk about. This episode I have to say I thought it was carefully done when it comes to Tony’s injury. I know many people have had a family member or a friend with the same kind brain trauma that Tony had. And those who have had this real life experience have said that they thought it was brilliant how “Skins” portrayed the self frustration that Tony has and the also the frustrations of those who love them. So with that… I go onto my two scenes.
1) Michelle and Sid in the woods…Tony over hears.
I was wondering what happened with Sid the whole episode when I first watched it. This scene made it clear. Sid was damaged from tending to Tony alone. No one should have to face that kind of grief and worry by themselves it took its toll. Michelle is filled with bitter disappointment. Tony said “I love you” in the way she wanted him too and bam it was taken from her like that. You can see in this scene that all three of them are damaged from the incident and none of them know exactly how to proceed. Then Tony overhears them. Its a great scene.
Sid: You’re avoiding me.
Michelle: You make me think about him.
Sid: You’re not the only one, Chelle. I was there every day, trying to get him to say something. And every body really, really, fucked up and I’m just trying to…to…and nobody comes but me, cause it’s so terrible. You should have fucking helped me.
Michelle: Alright! When it happened…before the bus…he was on the phone and he said something…I don’t think he remembers…
2.) Maxxie helps Tony write his name

Maxxie and Tony have such a good friendship that isn’t really explored outside of this episode and the one episode last Series. I really liked what they had in this. Maxxie really helps Tony. Is a support system for him. That’s where he went when Tony didn’t know where he lived. Maxxie gives him the advice he needs to write his name which is one step closer to going back to college. Getting back his life. Good quick scene.
